Madeline Joan Franko

Madeline Joan Franko, age 86 of Hobart passed away peacefully at her home Friday August 21, 2026. Madeline was born on March 26, 1940, in Hammond to the late William and Beaulah (Davis) Boelt. She retired after working several years as a Title Clerk and Office Manager for Paul Heuring Motors, Inc. Madeline was an avid reader, she enjoyed singing, and spending time with her family.

Madeline is survived by her loving husband, Stephen of Hobart; her son, Dean Franko of Hobart; a sister, LaVonne Taylor of DeMotte; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Madeline was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Stephanie Franko and her infant sister; a brother Dean Boelt; and a sister, Doris Busch.

Visitation for Madeline will be held from 10 am to noon Wednesday August 26, 2026, at Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. Her Funeral Service will follow immediately at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crown Point.

Memorial gifts are preferred to either Elevate Hospice 6612 E. 75th Street Indianapolis, Indiana 46350 or to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org in lieu of flowers.
