Maikki Bowles (nee Jensen), 82, of Hobart, Indiana, passed away on April 10, 2025, after a long illness. She was, in life, a proud mother, funny and compassionate, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The matriarch of her immediate and extended families, Maikki was a proud Danish woman through and through. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family and never forgot to send them greeting cards to celebrate every new occasion. She will always be remembered for the genuine kindness she showed strangers and loved ones alike.

She is survived by her children, Heidi (Brian) Ellis, Kirsten (Marc) Cooper, and Johnathan (Christine) Bowles; her grandchildren, Rowan and Dane Cooper; her siblings Uffe Jensen and Lyyli Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews, all beloved.

Maikki was born in Søllerød, Denmark to Margrethe (nee Naamansen) & Elmer Jensen on August 19, 1942. She emigrated with her family to the United States in 1955 and was a proud naturalized citizen of this country.  She married Edward Bowles on May 8,1965, in Dyer, Indiana. They met when they both worked for NIPSCO in the early 60s.

Maikki is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward H Bowles Jr., and her brothers, Gorm and Dan Jensen.

Memorial visitation for Maikki will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road.
