Marcine M. Scalchas, age 83, passed away Saturday March 2, 2019 at the Wittenberg Village in Crown Point.  Marcine was born June 24, 1934 in Gary, Indiana to the late George and Katherine (Smith) Doolin.  She was a homemaker, loving mother and sister.

Marcine is survived by her son, Chris Scalchas, Jr. of Lake Station; one grandson, Chris Scalchas; one great grandson, Chris Scalchas; two brothers, Bill P. (Barbara) Doolin of Hobart and George (Christine) Doolin of Hobart; three sisters, Barbara Durr of Murray, KY, Pat Kelly of Valparaiso and Sharon Shiyan of Hobart; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Chris Scalchas, Sr.; her parents; two brothers, Donald Doolin and James Doolin; and a sister, Judy Ellis.

Marcine requested to be cremated with no attended services.

Rees Funeral Home was entrusted with her services.
