Mardelle Wesley (nee Lindberg), age 89 a longtime Hobart resident passed away Thursday October 6, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor in Portage. She was born on March 31, 1922 in Drayton, North Dakota to the late George and Selma Lindberg. She graduated from Edison High School in Lake Station. Mardelle retired from Broadway Lumber after 21 years of service and also worked at Schultz Brothers Dime Store. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and attended Bible class for many years.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Marjorie (Jimmy) Allen of Hobart, IN; 1 son, Kenneth (Patricia) Wesley of Hobart, IN; 1 brother, George Lindberg of Indianapolis, IN; 1 sister, Mjoriel "Tootsie" Van Vleet of Merrillville, IN; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie Cox, Jodi Trottier, and Russell Allen, 5 great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Haley, Brett, Kyle, and Conner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wesley, 1 brother, Donald Lindberg, 2 sisters, Jane Lobue, and Donna Mae Davis.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mardelle's honor may be made to Trintity Lutheran Church in Hobart.

Visitation is Monday, October 10, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Funeral services are Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Drive, Hobart, IN 46342. Burial will follow at Mosier Cemetery.
