MARGARET CARPENTER, age 86, of Portage and formerly of Hobart, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014.  She was born on October 29, 1927 in Gary.  Margaret will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her 5 children, Deborah (Al) Coslett of Valparaiso, Gerald Carpenter and Larry (Joanne) Carpenter all of Portage, Terry (Sandy) Carpenter of San Pierre, and Kevin (Kim) Carpenter of Hebron; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, George, Jr.; parents, John and Elizabeth Milligan; 6 brothers and 2 sister.
