Margaret A. Franta

age 82 of Gary, Indiana passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015. She was born on August 27, 1932 in Terre Haute, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Perunko Buchko, father, Wm. G. Christensen, and stepfather, Andrew Buchko.
She was the mother of favorite daughters, Janet Couture (Keith McGarvey), Debra (Richard) Luellman, and Laura (Dan) Westgate, favorite son, Robert J (Martha) Franta. She was a sister to, Robert (Sue) Toby, She was the proud grandmother of, Kevin, Ashley, Christal, Michelle, Justin, Perrin, Drew E., great grandchildren, Brody, Sadie, Ella, and Harper, cousins, Elaine York (Sis), Linda Gascko, Tom Buchko, and Doris Bronowski, birthday buddy, Bruce Zuchowski, her extended family, Carlos Mateo (her Miller son), Travis (her neighbor), Marilyn and Shelley.
She graduated from Froebel High in 1950. Margaret was employed at Illinois Bell in Gary and GTE in Portage and LaPorte, Indiana. She served Pierogi at the Slovak Club with her daughter, Laura. She was also a member of the Has Been Operators (HBO), the Slovak Club. Life is measured, not by the breath you take-but by the moments that take your breath away.
Many people touched Margaret's life and made it special, her angel friends, Marilyn, Betty M., Betty N., Janice, Nancy W., June, and Connie M.. Margaret was a Saint Mary Medical Center Volunteer "Pink Lady" for over 22 years working Sundays from 12 to 4 at the East Desk. She loved the Cubs, the Cardinals (Birds), the Bulls, and the Electric Slide.
Bury my faults and weaknesses against my fellow friends. If by chance you wish to remember me, do it with a kind word or smile to someone who needs one. If you mention my name, I will live forever.
