Margaret E. Holland, age 93, passed away Monday, March 7,2011. She was born October 3, 1917 in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania to the late James and Sadie Lambie. Mrs. Holland was a retired (33 year) Staff educator and Head Nurse for both Gary and Southlake Methodist Hospitals. She was a member of South Haven Christian Church, Northern Indiana Professional Business Association, Priscilla Circle, and Deaconess of Methodist Hospital Retirees Club. She loved crafts, gardening and houseplants. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and playing cards.
Margaret is survived by her loving family daughters, Maureen (William) Winegar and Marilyn (Theodore) Ahrendt, both of Portage, IN; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, sisters, Rogean Thompson and Nellie (George) Smalley both of Pennsylvania.Preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 59 yrs. Melvin H. Holland, her brothers James Lambie, and Raymond Lambie, Edward Lambie, Ralph Lambie, and her sisters; Alverda Morrison, Mary Schiller and Ruby Shimko.Funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, March 11,2011, at South Haven Christian Church, 780 Juniper Rd, Valparaiso with Pastor Donald Miller officiating. Entombment, Graceland Mausoleum, Valparaiso. Visitation will be Thursday March 10,2011 from 4 -8pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association or South Haven Christian Church.
