Margaret Ann (nee Hooten) Matthews, age 82, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015. She was born on November 25, 1932 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Elmer and Myrtle Hooten. Margaret's greatest joy in life was her family and she especially loved Christmas shopping for her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her son: Thomas (Carol) Matthews: daughter: Karita (Keith) King; grandchildren: Cassandra ( Tony) Janeway, Julie Self, Shaun Matthews, Kelly (Justin) Butler, Adam (fiancee Lindsey Reisetter) King, Karla (Matt) Learman, Jess (fiancee Samantha McWhorter) King, Kari (fiancee Terrence Ellis) King; 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; granddog: Ace.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Elmer and Myrtle Hooten; husband: Marion Matthews; 7 brothers and sisters.

A funeral service for Margaret will take place Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
