Margaret A. Oleska, age 78, of Portage passed away Tuesday January 2, 2018 at the Crown Point Christian Village.  Margaret was born September 25, 1939 in Gary, Indiana to the late Edward and Mary (Gruchalski) Zakrzewski.  She was a retired bank teller working for Gary National and BMO Harris banks.  Margaret was a member of St Hedwig Catholic Church in Gary.

Margaret is survived by two brothers, Thomas (Kathy) Zakrzewski of Texas and Edward (Judith) Zakrzewski of Crown Point; her sister, Helen Kozenchik of Portage; several nieces and nephews, Ann Marie, Christopher (Ningchun) Erik (Penny), Randy, Michael, Jimmy and Jason (Sherri); great nieces and nephews, Ella, Hailey, Matt, Nathan, Caelan, Alexis, Melanie, Alexis, Brett, Katelyn, Carson and Kinsley; and her aunt, Helen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Andrew Oleska.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday January 8, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 7667 109 ^th Avenue, Crown Point, Indiana with Rev. Thomas Mischler officiating.  Burial will follow in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.  Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday with a 4:30 pm prayer service at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel 10909 Randolph St. Winfield/Crown Point, Indiana 46307. Additional visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Monday at the Church.
