Obituary

Margaret I. Smythe, age 88, of Hobart, passed away at home on Sunday, April 15, 2018. She was born in Union Township, Indiana on November 12, 1929 to the late Adam and Helen (nee Bryant) Yager. Margaret always put her family first and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Margaret is survived by her children, Patricia (Dennis) Spain, Muriel (Jim) Ramirez, David (Claudia) Smythe, Daniel Smythe, Margie (Larry) Weiss, Ronald J. Smythe, Tim Smythe; brother, Randall (Mary) Yager; 11 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David B. Smythe, Sr. and siblings, Charles, Richard, Ruth, Jacob, Robert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Margaret's honor, to Dunes Hospice, 4711 Evans Ave. Valparaiso, Indiana 46383.

A celebration of life service for Margaret will take place Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Chris Birky officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342. A procession to Hobart Cemetery for a burial of cremains will immediately follow the service. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
