MARGARET WAMPLER, 86, of Portage, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso. Margaret was a longtime Portage resident and retired deputy clerk from the Porter County Treasurer's office. She was a member of the Portage Community Bible Church. Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Margaret is survived by 2 sons, Carl (Karen) Wampler, Jr. and Jack Wampler, all of Portage, 4 grandchildren: Katie (Brandon) Meyer, Carl Joseph Wampler; Terry Wampler & Michael Wampler; 3 great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Juliette & Nolan Meyer; sister, Harriet Brooks of Battle Mountain, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Wampler and granddaughter, Christine Wampler. In lieu of flowers contributions to Shriners Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 29, 2013 from 2-8 pm at Rees Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, with Pastor Ron Smith officiating.
