Marguerite McKay (nee Patterson), age 82, of Lake Station, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

Marguerite was born on December 6, 1938 in Gary, IN to the late Bill and Evelyn (nee Harries) Patterson.  She attended Edison High School, Class of 1957. Marguerite married Warren McKay in June of 1957 and spent 58 wonderful years together until his death in 2015.

She worked as a server for many years, having worked at Spud Nuts, Burns Harbor Truck Stop, and in the kitchen at Miller's Merry Manor.  Marguerite enjoyed taking care of her family and was described as a homebody.  She loved her family and her husband Warren.  Their time together was best spent vacationing and visiting the casino.  She loved to gamble and also enjoyed days at home planting and weeding her garden.  Marguerite was a beloved mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Marguerite is survived by her daughters: Wanda (Rick) Rodriguez and Lavonne "Bonnie" (Ron) Boerema; sisters: Jean (Bill) O'Kelly, Kathleen (Johnny) Hartman, and Wilma (Jerry) Krause; grandchildren: Shannon (James) Hunt, Jennifer Estrada, Donny Dailey, Leslie Baldauf, William Baldauf, and Michael Dailey; great-grandchildren: Jeremy, Lindsey, Bridget, Charles, Jose, and Aaliyah; great-great-grandchildren: Aniya and her mother Tygeria, Adrian, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; son: Warren, Jr.; parents: Bill and Evelyn Patterson; and grandson, Charles John "CJ" Baldauf.

Family and friends may gather for a funeral service at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel (3781 Central Ave., Lake Station) on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 1:00 P.M with Pastor John Hoffmaster officiating.   A visitation will take place starting at 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Marguerite will be laid to rest next to her husband, Warren, at Graceland Cemetery.
