Maria Esther Alvarez, age 71, born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to Sebastian Vallejo Sanchez and Rafaela Ramos. She passed away on June 17, 2017 in Orlando, Fl. Maria is survived by her sons, Richard Ortiz and Robert Ortiz; daughter, Kristina Thirles and 3 grandchildren: Nathaniel Ortiz, Caleb Ortiz and Lilianna Ortiz.

The family will be receiving friends at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342 on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 2-8 pm. A funeral Service for Maria will take place Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.
