Maria Linda Calvillo

Age 53 of Hammond passed away at Community Hospital in Munster. She was born on December 31,1967 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Domingo and Betty (nee Wilson) Calvillo. Maria loved spending her time with her grandbabies, shopping, playing poker, going to the casino and food.  She will be remembered as a loving mother. grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

She is survived by her children, Emilio Barney (Edna) Calvillo , Amanda (Rafael) Oceguera ,Sergio (Iris) Calvillo, , Manuel (Jessica) Sotelo, and Armando (Jenea) Sotelo; grandchildren, Esperanza, Salvador, Oscar and Rafael Oceguera, Sergio Jr., Achilles and Giovanni Calvillo, Andreana Steuart, Manuel Jr. Anthony, Emily and Alyssa Sotelo; three nieces, Angela (Fernando) Calvillo, Betty Yzaguirre, and Angelica (Isa) Calvillo; three nephews, Felix (Megan), Zachary  Yzaguirre and Jose Calvillo;  six siblings, Linda (Jose Sr.), Major, Robert, Domingo (Mary), Ernie (Lorena) and Anna (Felix); significant other, Gabriel Panduro and her fur babies, Chloee, Gordo +8  and many other loving family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Susanna and Virginia and brother, Phillip.

Funeral services for Maria will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 11 am at Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13,2021 from 9 until time of service also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Hobart.
