Maria G. Jackson

Maria G. Jackson, age 77, of Lake Station passed away Tuesday October 28, 2025. Maria was born March 10, 1948, in Noicattaro, Italy to the late Pasquale and Santa (Borracci) Didonna. Maria was a steelworker that retired from Cleveland Cliffs Steel Company. Maria was a member of St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Sodality at the church.

Maria is survived by her son, Pasquale (Julie) Jackson of Portage; five grandchildren, Laura (Aaron) Jennings of Portage, Alixandrya (Eli) Harmon of Nashville, Samuel Moreno of Greenwood, Gabriela Moreno of Portage, and Noah Jackson of Portage; two great grandchildren, Lilly and Sophie Jennings; a brother, Nick (Toni) Didonna of Westville; two sisters, Bernadina(Frank) Cinquepalmi of Italy, and Teresa Maggio of Hobart; her sister-in-law, Diane Didonna; and many nieces and nephews.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Vito (Anna) Didonna, Marino Didonna, and Tony Didonna; two sisters, Rose (Robert) Shearer, and Grazia "Nella" (Dan) Soria; and her brother-in-law, Pietro Maggio.

Visitation for Maria will be from 4-8 pm Monday November 3, 2025, at the Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. A Rite of Christian Burial will begin with 10:45 am Prayers at the Funeral Home on Tuesday and process to St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church 2447 Putman Street Lake Station, Indiana 46405 where Mass will be Celebrated by Rev, David W. Kime at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the Church in lieu of flowers.
