Maria G. Norton, age 77, of Hebron passed away Thursday October 18, 2018 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso. Maria was born November 12, 1940 in Tototlan, Jalisco, Mexico to the late Rumaldo and Florencia (Munoz) Zuniga. She retired from the Union Township School Corporation where she worked as a custodian.

She married Rodney S. Norton on February 4, 1970 in Mexico. Maria loved spending time with her family and caring for them. Maria is survived by five children: Tammy (Don) Pardus of Lilburn, GA, Shawn Norton of Hebron, Belinda (Willie) Norton- McLemore of Valparaiso, Monte Norton of Hebron and Kayla Norton of Hebron; three grandchildren: Caitlan Pardus, Gregory Vajner and Madison McLemore; four brothers and sisters: Teresa (Rosalio) Carrillo, Maria Elena (Pablo) Padilla, Francisco (Yolanda) Zuniga and Fidel (Gloria) Zuniga; and many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and great nephews. She will be missed by her two loving dogs Pinot and Grom

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Rodney S. Norton; and many brothers and sisters, Maria Zuniga, Chavelo Zuniga, Juanita Zuniga, Carmen Villarruel, Juan Zuniga, Jesus Zuniga and Luis Zuniga.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday October 26, 2018 at the REES FUNERAL HOME, WINFIELD CHAPEL at 10909 Randolph Rd. Crown Point/Winfield, IN 46307 with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Entombment shall follow in Graceland Mausoleum Valparaiso, Indiana.
