Marian L. Colburn

Age 90, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Wittenberg Lutheran Village in Crown Point. She was born on June 22, 1923 in West Summerland, Canada to the late John and Jean (nee Mc Ritchie) Ledyard. Marian graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Health Arts from St. Francis in Joliet and St. Luke's School of Nursing in Chicago. She retired from St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart as a surgical nurse. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hobart, a member of American Legion Auxiliary since 1930, and a past president of Hobart Unit 54. Marian will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Marian is survived by her loving family; four daughters, Constance (Ed) Popcheff of Indianapolis, Carolyn (Dale) Polomchak of Hobart, Cynthia (Philip) Rubino of Hobart and Cathleen (Jeffrey) Meinert of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, William R. Ledyard, Arthur Ledyard and sister, Eleanor Ramsay.
