Marian Leucuta Smith

Marian Leucuta Smith, age 74, of Portage passed away at the Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso on Saturday September 10, 2022 surrounded by her family. Marian was born March 1, 1948, in Gary, Indiana to the Late Michael and Sylvia (Tzitz) Leucuta. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family deeply and cared for them until her death.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Glen Smith of Portage; three children, Glenn Allen Smith of Valparaiso, Laurisa (Kenneth) Giertz of Hobart, and Sylvia (Daniel) Sibo of Portage; five grandchildren, Ashley, Katalyna, Austin, Dustin, and Kaitlynn; six great grandchildren, Jeremy, Jax, Alydia, Brentley, Karman, and Kamo; and many dear friends and extended family.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Michael Leucuta; and a sister, Sandra Leucuta.

A memorial visitation will be held at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 from 2-7 pm. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 7 pm.
