Marilyn Ann Holmes (nee Hanus), age 83, of Lakes of the Four Seasons, passed away February 18, 2018. She was born on September 23, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Francis and Matilda Hanus. On September 18, 1954, she married the love of her life, Harold W. Holmes. In 1977, they moved to Lakes of the Four Seasons. She cherished the sense of community she helped to form there along with her husband as one of the first residents. Marilyn was employed as a legal secretary for Lake County before she retired to care for her first grandson. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time on the lake with her dogs. She will always be remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her son, Brian (Deanne) Holmes of Dyer; grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary and Ahbigail Holmes; sisters, Arlene Sirovatka, Carole Korinko and Lois Hickey; several other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold W. Holmes in 2008.
