Obituary

MARILYNN J. PAVESE, age 90, of Peoria, AZ; formerly a resident of Janesville, WI, passed away on July 9, 2026. She was born on May 18, 1936, to the late David and Ora McEwan. She worked for many years on the assembly line at Parker Pen, where she met many lifelong friends. She spent many years volunteering at Mercy Hospital and Castaways Thrift Store; she was also a member of The Church of Christ and The Janesville Senior Center for many years.

Marilynn’s favorite pastimes were putting together jigsaw puzzles, which she loved sharing with everyone on Facebook, and taking an occasional trip to the casino.

Above all else, Marilynn cherished her relationship with God and the special bond she shared with her family and friends. Her kindness, unwavering faith, and famous peanut brittle will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

Marilynn is survived by her three children: Charmaine Pavese-Brecklin, Tony (Janine) Pavese, and Jodi (Kevin) Johnson; six grandchildren: Cory (Taryn) Brecklin, Taylor (Tom) Ieronimo, Toni (Bryan) Sewell, Kahli (Chris) Requet, Kevin Jr (Emily) Johnson, and Nick (Elisa) Johnson; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lois (Bill) Handley and Bonnie (R.B.) Adams; one brother: David McEwan; her special cousin: Claudia Brazil; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Pavese; her grandson, Michael Pavese; and her sister, Eleanor Kaplan.

Private services were held at Rees Funeral Home, followed by burial at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
