Mark Kevin Clapp of Portage, Indiana age 49, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Mark was born on September 28, 1964 in Gary, Indiana. Mark was a millwright for Union Local 1076, and was a director of the Carpenters Union. Mark proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Mark enjoyed bowling and his yellow corvette. On February 2, 2003, Mark married his best friend Daphne in Portage, Indiana. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother and friend.
Mark is survived by his wife; Daphne D. (nee Zaragoza) Clapp, daughter, Daphne R. Espinosa, mother Marlene (nee Zurn) Clapp of Arkansas, two sisters; Bonna (nee Clapp) Nichols of Florida and Stacey (nee Clapp) Mulvihill of Wisconsin and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant son Mark Kevin Clapp Jr. and his father, James Randall Clapp.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. Cremation will follow. Funeral service will be Sunday, September 15, 2013 with a 2 p.m. service with Pastor Jack Kuckuck officiating, with additional visitation from 12:00 pm until time of service at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
