Mark Jay Varlan, age 50 of Crown Point/LOFS passed away Tuesday May 13, 2014. He was born on May 29, 1963 in Hammond, IN. Mark worked at Precison Wall Systems as a Glazier. He was a member of the Local 1165. Mark enjoyed woodworking, attending the Indianapolis 500 every year, restoring his Jeep, building and tinkering with things, and he enjoyed his sons' activities.
He is survived by his wife, Iris Varlan (nee Smith); 3 sons, Daltyn, Cameron, and Evrett Varlan; his mother, Anna Varlan; 1 sister, Gail (Bill) Hanson of Highland, IN.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Varlan and sister, Pamela Varlan.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to help the family.
Funeral services are Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St., Winfield/Crown Point, IN 46307 with Rev. Dr. James C. Parkhurst officiating.
