Marlene H. Spradlin (nee Denisiuk), age 66, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015. She was born on March 28, 1948 in Gary, Indiana to Joseph Denisiuk and Thelma Denisiuk-Bittner. Marlene enjoyed baking and having yardsales. She loved her dogs and cherished the time she spent with her family. She will always be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Marlene is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Kenneth Spradlin; sons, Thomas (Heather) Muzek, George Muzek; grandchildren, Matthew Muzek, Michael Muzek, Rylan Muzek, Amauri Muzek, Tamara (James) Hnatiuk; great grandchildren, Kylee Cook, Landen Wood, Tyler Wood, Savannah Hnatiuk, Caleb Hnatiuk; brother, Michael Denisiuk; sisters, Clara Clark, Patricia Walker, Deborah (Phillip) Zedov; dogs, Chico and Paco.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Denisiuk and Thelma Denisiuk-Bittner; daughter, Christine Anthony; granddaughter, Daniell Anthony; brothers, Joseph Denisiuk, Earl Denisiuk; sisters, Virginia Taylor, Mary Bittner; dog, Peanut.

A funeral service for Marlene will take place Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:30 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Rev. Josh Brown officiating. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
