Marsha Lynn Wurtzel, age 61, of Portage, formerly of Lake Station, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012. She was born on February 13, 1951 to Betty and Roy Carns. Marsha was employed with the Hobart Township School Corp. for many years. She enjoyed sewing and decorating and was always cooking and baking when she got a chance. Marsha will be remembered as a kind and loving person.

She is survived by her 2 children, Thomas (Heather) Ingram, Sr. and Shelly (Cornell) Irby, all of Valparaiso; mother, Betty Carns of Lake Station; grandchildren, LaShea, Destiney, Thomas, Jr., Ryan and Leo Ingram, all of Valparaiso; brothers, Michael Carns of Lake Station and Jeffrey (Carmen) Carns of Portage; nieces, Amie, Michelle, Ashley Carns, Jamie (Chris Bresse) Carns, and Shannon (Michael) Steve; nephew William Carns; 4 great nephews & 1 great niece; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Marsha was preceded in death by her father, Roy Carns; daughter, Denise Ramsey; brother, Ronald Carns.

A funeral service for Marsha will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. with Pastor LuAnn Parrish officiating.
