Martha Lois Johnson

Martha Lois Johnson, age 78, of Hobart passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, in her home.  Martha was born June 16, 1943, in Harlem, New York to the late Roy S. and Mattie L. (Howell) Merricks. She was a    dietitian for the YFCR daycare center prior to retirement.  Martha was a beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and dear friend. She was a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church in Chesterton, Indiana.

Martha is survived by her four children, Shari R. Burruss (Rodney) of Middletown, Delaware, DuJuan W. Rose of Battle Creek, Michigan, LaDonna (Damon) Bazziel of Merrillville, and LaShanda D. Johnson of Hobart; eight grandchildren, Cedael A. White (Pariis), Tiana N. White (Ciara), Damon D. Bazziel, Jr., David J. Bazziel, Daniel J. Bazziel, Dinajia Rose, Neveah Rose, and Juwan Rose; five great grandchildren, Jeremiah Terrell, ZaeMire Clark, Harrisyn White, Liincoln White, and Carl Higdon Jr.; three grandpups, Titus M. Johnson, and Ceaser B. Bazziel and Novak F. White;  sisters Michelle Johnson of Michigan, and Donna Alford of Michigan; and many dear friends and relatives.

Visitation for Martha will be Monday March 7, 2022, from 10am to 11am at the Fairhaven Baptist Church 86 E. Oak Hill Road Chesterton, Indiana 46304. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Monday at the Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart.
