Martha Mae Meeks
Age 91, passed away Monday, November 05, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving daughters.
She was born on March 13, 1921 to the late Fred and Wilma Patterson in Alabama. On June 21, 1935 Martha married her late husband, John C. Meeks. She was a member of Central Avenue Church of God in Portage, and a retired meat wrapper at Buy Low grocery store. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her 4 daughters; Carolyn Rael of Hobart, Sherry Davis of Lake Station, Linda Sue ( Louis Bellar) Gilmore of Hobart, and Tommie Diane (Jim) Rehfeldt of Lake Station, 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, sisters; Evie Reid and Mavis (Willard) Reno, brother in law Jim King, and her four legged friend Sammy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers Winford "Bo" Patterson, W. Ellis Patterson, 2 sisters; Myrtle Wirrick, Maxine King, and loving friend and companion Clifford Tabor.
A funeral service for Martha will be Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with Pastor Jerry Martin officiating.
