MARTHA H. NUCE (KLOS), age 88, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012. She was a longtime area resident and was formerly a Kindergarten teacher and worked for the US Census Bureau. Martha enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, knitting, reading, watching classic movies. In her early years she was very athletic and played tennis and hardball. Martha will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, William P. Nuce; children, Mike (Sally Schofield) Klos of Bradenton, FL, Susan (Lyle Hannigan) Klos of Hobart, David Klos (Carlene) of Westville, Lori (Bill Mellon) Doll of Valparaiso, Mary (Louie) Chinn of Valparaiso, and Denise McCoy of Portage; stepchildren, Patty (Dave) Mitchell, Bob (Michelle) Nuce all of Valparaiso, and Kevin Nuce of PA; daughter-in-law, Kate Klos; grandchildren, Jennifer (Garrett) Wallace, Jacob Klos, Katherine Klos, Aaron Klos, Adam (Carrie) Klos, Hera Doll, Aimee Doll, Amanda (Tyler) Secor, Holly (Luke) Bensing, Christopher McCoy, Nicole(Jason) Shewmaker, Kristen(Quentin Wilborn) McCoy; step-grandchildren, Clinton (Betsy Cuellar) Chinn , Missy (Justin) Sachtleben, Kyra Nuce, Olivia Ingram, DJ Mitchell, Billy, Christy, and David Nuce; great grandchildren, Ryan, Tanin, Caleb, Nolan, Izabella, Carly, Jett, Preston, and Parker; numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her son, Stanley J. Klos, III.

A visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. A funeral service will be Friday, November 2, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Jim Stoel officiating. Private family burial to follow at a later date.
