Martha Ann Parker, age 79, of Chesterton passed away early Sunday February 16, 2014 in the Franciscan St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Martha was born May 3, 1934 in Madison, Alabama to the late Clay and Edna (Berryhill) Honea. Martha was a homemaker and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Black Oak. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Martha is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Franklin D. Parker of Chesterton; three sons Randall Dean (Millie) Parker of Portage, Tony Ray Parker of Union Mills and Derek DeWayne (Melissa) Parker of Wheatfield; daughter Judy Ann (Tommy) Doughty of Hobart; brother Tyrone Honea of Tennessee; one sister Delores June Stephens of Tennessee; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers Alton, James, Horace and Jimmy Ray Honea.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon Tuesday February 18, 2014 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana. Burial will follow in Chesterton Cemetery Chesterton, Indiana. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon at the funeral home.
Martha's family request that NO FLOWERS be sent to the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Franklin Parker instead.
