Martin E. Costello, age 59, of Lake Station passed away Friday July 8, 2016 at the Golden Living Center, Fountainview Place in Portage. Martin was born November 3, 1956 in Gary, IN to the late William and Elaine (Tripp) Costello. He was a Boilermaker working out of Local #374. Martin enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an outstanding high school athlete, playing football with his brothers for Lew Wallace High School, where he graduated in 1975. He went on to play semipro football for the Saxon Steelers. On November 28, 1996 he married his loving wife January who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Christopher Martin Costello of Merrillville, Martin (Colleen) Costello of Valparaiso and Dustin Owen of Lake Station; one daughter, Courtnee (Fiance Bradley Bochenek) Owen of Hammond; two brothers, Jack (Donna) Costello of Texas and William (Peggy) Costello of Florida; three sisters, Pam (Dan) Harkins of Hobart, Donna (Tom) Williams of South Haven and Elaine (Tim) Price of Wabash; two grandchildren Peyton Bochenek and Madelynn Costello; and many nieces and nephews.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Vicki Bozich.

A memorial visitation will be conducted at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are preferred to Rees Funeral Home to help Martin's Family defray funeral expenses.
