Marvin E. Cline, age 84, a lifelong Lake Station, IN resident passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Marvin was born on May 28, 1939 in Dow, IL to the late Chester and Mary Cline.  He was a graduate of East Gary Edison High School and went on to work for US Steel.  Marvin worked his way up from the floor of the Basic Oxygen Furnace to become the Supervisor and retired after 35 years.  He married the love of his life, Sharon R. Forney, on December 21, 1957 and spent 57 years together until her passing in 2014.  Marvin and Sharon loved to travel all over the United States.  Most importantly, he will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Marvin is survived by his daughter: Debra R. (Sandra Hays) Cline; grandson: Jereme (Jenifer Fifield) Cline; great-grandchildren: Aaliyah and Camron Cline; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Marvin is preceded in death by his wife: Sharon; son: Jim A. Cline; parents: Chester and Mary; siblings: Delores Kulp, Mary Lou, Miller, Delmer Cline, and Lyle Cline.

Per Marvin's wishes, there are no services being held.  Cremation is entrusted to Rees Funeral Homes, Hobart Chapel.  Marvin will be laid to rest at a later date at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marvin's name may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, Shriner's Hospital for Children, or Dunes Hospice.
