Marvin "Dewayne" Oglesby, age 71, of Hobart passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, in his home with his family at his side. Dewayne was born July 22, 1951, in Greenville, Kentucky, to the late Marvin and Ruth (Wilkins) Oglesby. Dewayne was a Maintenance Mechanic that retired from Inland Steel in 2005. He was a Vietnam-era U.S. Army Veteran. Dewayne was a life member of Hobart VFW Post #5365.

Dewayne is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Robin (Stovall) Oglesby; his two children, Steve (Tami) Oglesby of Hobart and Stacy (Mark) Grissom of Crown Point; four grandchildren, Stevie (Isibel) Oglesby, Kalyn (Steven) Swingler, Samantha (Henry) Keller, and Maranda (Aaron) Purkey; two great grandchildren, Thomas Swingler and Archer Keller; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

A Celebration of Dewayne's life will be conducted Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Dewayne's cremated remains will be entombed in a Niche in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Columbarium at a future date.
