Mary Geraldine "Gerry" Bizzle, age 89 of Valparaiso, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 7,1933 the daughter of the late Melvin M. and Beatrice (nee Hudson) White in Dyersburg, Tennessee. On April 14, 1948, Gerry married her loving husband J.C. Bizzle in Dyersburg, Tennessee. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for JCPenney's. Gerry enjoyed bowling and golfing with her husband, vacationing with family and loved beautifully made quilts. She had many interests including playing cards, camping, watching cooking shows and reading. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great grandmother aunt, cousin, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Jim Thiel) Bizzle of Valparaiso, Indiana; three grandchildren; Angela (Jay) Hegde, Kim (Mike) Gavaller and Tami (Samuel Bodish) Glover, four great-grandchildren; Eden (Andrew Foster) Gill, Sabrina (Tyler) Shockey, Chuck (Victoria) Beach and Giana Gavaller; three great-great grandchildren,  Natalie Shockey, Alexander Gill, and Oliver Shockey, two nieces, Lori and Corie Mooney; nephew, Steven (Donna) Bizzle and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, J.C. Bizzle; son, Ronald Dale Bizzle her parents, Melvin, and Beatrice White; three brothers, Raymond, Roy and Joe White. A funeral service for Gerry will be held Thursday, January 19,2023 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Dallas Fields officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation for Gerry will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service also at Rees Funeral Home. Hobart Chapel.
