MARY E. BOBY, age 66, of Lake Station, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Mary had been a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident and longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station. She was retired from the Indiana Toll Road and had also driven a school bus for the River Forest School System. Mary was also a member of the Ladies Sodality at Church.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, George J. Boby, Jr., 3 children: Jay (Robin) Boby of Plainfield, IL, Bob (Mary Joy) Boby of Valparaiso, and Trisha Boby of Lake Station, 7 grandchildren: Matthew, Luc, Brett, Sarrie, Tess, Megan and Sarah, 7 brothers & sisters: Ivor (Shirley) Coons, Joe Coons, Rick (Diane) Coons, Peggy Hardaway, Jeff (Sherri) Coons, Rose (Dave) Purser and Jim (Sabra) Coons, mother-in-law, Sr. Mary Boby, PHJC of Donaldson, IN, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivor and Theresa Coons and sister, Susan Koulianos.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 14, 2013 from 4-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10:00 am Directly at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnam St., Lake Station, with Rev. David Kime celebrating the Mass.
