MARY PAULINE CARPENTER, age 86, of Portage, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at Porter Regional Hospital. Mary Pauline was born June 30, 1926 in Trimble, Tennessee and had been a Portage resident since 1959. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Station.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Charlie) Silkwood of Alabama and son, James G. (Deborah) Carpenter of Portage, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, James Granville Carpenter and 2 daughters, Linda Pollock and Judith Paulette Burkett.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, with Pastor David A. Nykamp and Pastor Kendall Nickell officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery in Portage.
