Obituary
Mary "Patti" Coons, age 62 of Portage passed away Friday, April 15, 2011. She was a longtime Portage resident. Patti was born on November 10, 1948. She loved nature, cooking and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of over 35 years, Joseph E. Coons Sr. of Portage, IN; 3 children, Linda M. Coons of Portage, IN; Joseph E. (Jeannie) Coons Jr., of Chesterton, IN; Robert (Elizabeth) Lindh of Newport Beach, CA; 5 grandchildren, Heather Novreske of Portage, IN; Taylor Lynn Coons of Chesterton, IN; Mason, Nicole, and Kristen Lindh of Newport Beach, CA;
A special thank you to her caregiver and sister-in-law, Rose Purser.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Donlan and her mother, Virginia James.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Patti's honor may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County, 2401 Valley Drive, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
There will be a memorial visitation Monday, April 18, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Deacon Richard Huber officiating. Cremation will take place with Rees Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
