Mary Ellen Donovan, age 91, died July 9, 2015. Mary Ellen was born July 1, 1924 in Racine Wisconsin to James and Mary Ellen (Mahoney) Donovan. She was a long time Hobart resident and a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Mary Ellen was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School. She worked for 47 years at St. Mary Medical Centers in Gary and Hobart prior to retirement.

Mary Ellen is survived by two sisters-in-law Elizabeth "Betty" Donovan and Jeanette Donovan; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and dear friends Terry (Sandra) Hufford.

She was preceded in death by her parent James and Mary Ellen Donovan; three brothers Cornelius, James and R. William Donovan; one sister Patricia Donovan; and one sister-in-law Penelope Donovan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday July 25 at 10:00 am at St Bridget Catholic Church 568 E Second Street, Hobart, Indiana with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating. Visitation will be conducted from 9:00 -10:00 am at the Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Mercy Cemetery in Gary.

Memorial donations are preferred to the Porter County VNA Hospice or to St. Bridget Catholic Church.
