Obituary

Mary Duda,(nee Loncaric) age 98 of Hobart passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was born on August 29, 1915 to the late Joseph and Veronica Loncaric. Mary was a member of St. Bridget Church, St. Anne's Confraternity and a member of RSVP Senior Volunteer Program. She enjoyed playing the organ for residents in the nursing home. Mary was an excellent seamstress, making Raggedy Ann dolls and clothes for Barbie. She loved children and was a caregiver who was always ready to help.

Mary is survived by her daughters Roberta Kovich, Marian Bianco both of Hobart; Sister Delores (Robert) Roth; Grandchildren Linda Kenney, Karen Kovich, Steve Kovich, Jr., Diane Ampeliotis, MaryAnn Matovina, Cynthia Lewis and Christine Spero; 13 Great grandchildren; 7 Great great grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband Andrew Duda, daughter Patricia Ampeliotis; brothers, Joseph Loncaric, Anthony Loncaric, and George Loncaric; sisters Ann Mattingly and Katherine Markey.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made it St. Anne's Confraternity.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 starting with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart and processing to St. Bridget Catholic Church for an 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian burial with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino, officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. A vistiation for Mary will be on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Rees Funeral Home from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. with a St. Anne's service at 4:00 p.m.
