Mary N. Hamady

Mary (nee Melikian) Hamady, of Valparaiso, passed away Friday November 11, 2016 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Crown Point. Mary was born May 27, 1936 in Gary, Indiana to the late Jack and Alice Melikian. On May 6, 1961 Mary married the love of her life Richard Hamady. She was a Head Order Clerk for Production Planning and an active member of the Goodfellows club at United States Steel for 49 yrs.; she was an honorary member of the Howling Mad Marine Corp, a past trustee for Local 2695, a member of American Legion Post 54. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Richard; two sons, Michael (Kindra) Hamady Sr. and Jack Hamady Sr. ; six grandchildren, Michael Jr., Gianna, Peter, Jack Jr., Ashley and Emily; two siblings, Florence Jones and Anthony (Mary) Melikian and many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Walter (Jean) Gaboian and brother in law, Raymond Jones.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana with Father Tavit Boyajian officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the funeral home.(219) 942-2109
