Mary E. Jackson (nee Christine), age 82, of Portage and formerly of Hobart passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021. She was born on January 1, 1939 in Gary, Indiana to the late Edwin and Dorothy Christine. Mary was a devout member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and married her husband there on June 20, 1957. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She cherished the time she spent with her husband raising their six children together.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert Jackson; sons, Charles (Annette) Jackson, Robert (Margaret) Jackson, Steven (Heather) Jackson, William (Angelica) Jackson; daughter, Debra (Mark) Richardson; 15 grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (James) Kane.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jackson in 1990; and her parents, Edwin and Dorothy Christine.

Visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Bridget Catholic Church with prayers starting at the funeral home at 9:30 am.
