In Loving Memory of Mary Jean Thyen (October 21, 1941 – July 8, 2026)

Mary Jean Thyen went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2026. She is survived by her brother, David Thyen (special friend Bobbi), her niece and nephews Rick (Stacy), Rob, and Sue (Bob Behnke). Great niece and nephews Sam and Alex Thyen and Lauren, Jack, David and Jeff Behnke. She is preceded in death by her parents, Norbert “Dick” and Julia “Sugar” Thyen, sister in-law Mary Ellen Thyen and great niece Katie Ann Thyen.

Mary Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved playing cards, shopping, antiques, and cross-stitch. She also enjoyed getting together with her classmates and volunteering with The Answer for Pregnancy and St. Vincent de Paul.

Mary Jean's steadfast faith in God was a guiding light throughout her life. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, kindness, and cherished memories will continue to brighten the lives of all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Fall with a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Saint Paul Conference c/o Saint Paul Catholic Church 1855 W Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, IN 46385.
