Mary Ann Johnson

Mary A. Johnson, age 76, of Lake Station passed away Thursday March 17, 2022, in her home with her family by her side.  Mary was born January 4, 1946, in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late John C. and Dorothy (Cotner) Smith. Mary was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She loved playing BINGO whenever she could.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Vickie Shewmaker of Lake Station; three grandchildren, Gary Shewmaker, Jr., Cassie (Carlos) Cardenas, and Kaylyn Shewmaker; three great-grandchildren, Gabriella Cardenas, Mason Cardenas, and Madeline Cardenas; and one brother, John C. (Cathy) Smith.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Johnson; two sons, Jeffery Meeks and Carl Meeks; and three brothers, Albert Smith, Robert Smith, and Maynard Smith.

Mary's services were entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342.
