Mary Killigrew died April 14, 2016 in Stuart, Florida.
Mary C. Killigrew formerly from Jensen Beach, Florida passed away peacefully today after a long illness. Mary was born on May 6, 1928. Mary was predeceased by her parents: John and Alvina Killigrew, and her brother Jeremiah (Jerry). She survived by her brother John (June) of Brockport, NY, 3 nephews: Jeremiah of Swain, NY, Kieran of Sarasota, Florida and Daniel (Diane) of Penfield, NY and a niece Claudia of Rochester, NY., and also 2 grand-nephews.
Mary was very fond of college football with her favorite teams being Notre Dame and Michigan State. Mary was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed everything about St. Patrick's Day. Mary was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church of Jensen Beach, Florida.
Ms. Killigrew attended St. Bridget School and Hobart High School and graduated from Nazareth Academy, Kalamazoo, Michigan. She received a BS in Chemistry from Rosary College, River Forest, Illinois, and MS in Dietetic and Nutrition from Michigan State University.
Her career in the School Lunch Program took her to Gary and Mishawaka Indiana, and State of Michigan School Lunch Program to Lansing, Michigan. In addition she was an Officer in the National Food Lunch Association. During the 1960's she was an Advisor to the Republic of Panama in their School Lunch Program, funded by the US Government during the Kennedy Administration.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St Bridget's Church, 568 East 2nd Street Hobart, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will take place Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 568 East 2nd Street Hobart, IN 46342 at 10:00 am with Rev. Dominic V.
