Mary Joann Klym

Age 71, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was born February 1,1940 in Jackson, Michigan the daughter of the late Lyndon and Isabella (nee Cotnoir) Hicks. She lived in Lansing, Michigan until she married the love of her life David in 1973 and moved to Lake Station. She was a member of the Lake Station Ladies Auxiliary for 37 years, past president and treasurer. She was chairman for the Local MDA Boot Drive for many years. She served as Den Mother, PTA President at Hamilton Elementary School. Lynn Camera employed her in Lansing, Michigan for many years. After moving to Indiana she was employed at Calumet Photo and Brickie Photo
She enjoyed taking pictures, working in the yard, baking at the holidays, planning Thanks-Christmas with her family every year and spending her winters at her condo in Apollo, Beach. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband David Klym of Lake Station, children; Debra (Kenneth) Cates of Lake Station, Julie (Pat) Kennedy of Portage, Steve Maynard of Madison, West Virginia, Joe (Kim Haitt) Maynard of Winston- Salem, North Carolina,. Michelle (Joe) Emons of Valparaiso, Tammie (Stewart Spears) Klym, Michael Klym both of Lake Station 18 grandchildren Kim, Tracie(Kyle) Sandy (Steve), Patrick, Stephanie (Chad) Stacy (Jeff, William, Zachary, Zechariah, Jacob, Nick, Ericka, Christopher, Holly, Jessica, Mariana, Felix and Eddie, 9 great-grandchildren; Sklar, Reese, Havic, Mali, Payton, Stephen, Sydney, Ryan and Andreas , brother Dick (Wanda) Hicks of Lansing, Michigan and other loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Scotty.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home – BRADY CHAPEL, 3781 Central Ave, Lake Station. Visitation will be held Friday, June 17, 2011 from 2:00-8:00 PM also at Rees Funeral Home- Brady Chapel. Burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville.
