Mary Catherine Krise

Mary Catherine Krise, age 79, of Portage passed away Thursday May 25, 2023, at Northwest Health-Porter in Valparaiso, Indiana. Mary was born December 22, 1943, to the late Charles and Susanna (Balon) Stewart. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mary is survived by three daughters, Karen (Scott) Walton of LaPorte, Diane (Shawn) Farrington of Portage, and Jennifer (Shawn) Blanchard of Portage; thirteen grandchildren, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Michael, Mario, Melissa, Alexis, Hunter, Nicole, Haley, Alexander, Lashawn, Timone, and Tasasha; thirteen great grandchildren, Kahlir, Myasia, Zariah, Isabella, Aryanna, Julian, Elizabeth, Isaiah, Gianni, Jeremiah, Evianna, Grace, and Ezekiel; one brother Louis Stewart of Portage; one sister, Nancy (Harry) Defenbaugh of Johnstown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, John Krise, Jr.; her parents; ten brothers and sisters; and her loving companion, Donald Wilhelm.

Mary will be cremated with no attended services at this time. Rees Funeral Home was entrusted with her services.
