Mary Littell, age 84, of Star City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 21, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Fredrick and Florence (nee Williams) Hull.
Mary was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and making a loving home. On November 15, 1960, she married the love of her life, Printice W. “Bub” Littell, in East Gary, Indiana. Together, they built a life filled with love, devotion, and many cherished memories.
Mary was a truly sweet and tenderhearted woman whose kindness came naturally. She had a gentle, caring spirit and a way of making people feel special simply by being herself. Her heart was always open to others, and she treated people with warmth, compassion, and genuine love. Mary never met a stranger, and it didn't take long for someone to feel like a friend in her presence. Though she had a spunky personality and a little spark that made her unforgettable, she also had a soft and loving side that shone through in the way she cared for others. She was the kind of person who made people feel welcome, accepted, and loved.
Mary enjoyed playing rummy, writing little stories, and joining her church family in ministering to the public. Her faith and desire to reach out to others reflected the loving heart she carried throughout her life. She found joy in connecting with people and sharing her kindness wherever she went. Above all, Mary treasured her family. Her love for her seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren was immeasurable, and she loved each of them equally and wholeheartedly. Her family was a precious part of her life, and the love she gave them will remain in their hearts for generations to come.
Mary leaves behind a beautiful legacy of tenderness, compassion, faith, and unconditional love. She will be remembered for her sweet nature, her welcoming heart, her spunky spirit, and the special way she made others feel loved. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Printice W. “Bub” Littell; sons, Robert (Donna) Littell and Dan (Kim) Littell; daughter, Teashia O’Daniel; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Raymond and Bob, and her sister, Sandy.
