Obituary

MARY McINTYRE, age 89, of Hobart, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 9, 2012. She was born on July 31, 1923 in Sanborn, IA to Cora and Curtis Ellis. She was a longtime Hobart resident and was the founder of the Hobart Food Pantry with her late husband, Bob. Mary was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, where she was active in St. Vincent De Paul Society and worked the annual carnival. She was involved in many organizations and activities including, Meals on Wheels, Coats for Kids, Kiwanis, and St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary. Mary also assisted her husband in founding the Hobart Pool and was a charter member of the Supervisor's Club.

Mary is survived by her 5 children, Michael (the late Gale) McIntyre of San Diego, CA, Melinda (the late Bill) Whitson of Spring Hill, FL, Curt (Debra) McIntyre of Fort Myers, Fl, Bill McIntyre of South Bend, and Steve McIntyre of Hobart, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" McIntyre, her parents, and her brother, Joe Ellis.

Donations can be made to the Hobart Food Pantry, 200 S. Hobart Rd., Hobart, Indiana.

A funeral service for Mary will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. Burial will follow at Hobart Cemetery.
