Mary Ann Pepoff, age 84, of Lake Station, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016. She was born on May 19, 1931 in Gary, Indiana to the late Walter and Cordelia Borman. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Hobart Assembly of God Church. On September 2, 1950, in Gary, Indiana, she married the love of her life, Robert Pepoff. Together with her husband, she owned and managed the Welcome Inn in Tolleston. She loved growing flowers and spending time with her church family.
Mary is survived by sons, Robert (Sheila) Pepoff, Dennis (Janice) Pepoff, Jeffery (Tina) Pepoff, David Pepoff and Richard Pepoff; daughters, Carol Donsbach, Karen (Noel) Knight; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Hatch, Cordelia (Bob) Clark, Walter (June) Borman, Ralph (Sharon) Borman and Paul (Juanita Harris) Borman; beloved cat, Zoey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Cordelia Borman; beloved husband, Robert Pepoff; brother, Robert Borman; son in law, Herbert Donsbach. Memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to the Hobart Assembly of God Church or Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana, 8446 Virginia Street, Merrillville, IN 46410. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers at Meals on Wheels for the joy they brought her.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service for Mary will take place Monday, February 1, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Hobart Assembly of God Church, 7545 East Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Ryan McDowell officiating.
