Mary Frances "Fran" Scott, age 87, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 9, 1930 in Knoxville, TN to the late George and Virgie Corum. On July 7, 1947 she married the love of her life, Claude G. Scott. In her free-time, she enjoyed shopping at Bailey's and Richard's Discount Centers in Toto and all her grandkids knew that if Grandma Fran was driving they would get there faster. She loved watching old Westerns. She will always be remembered for her great personality and fantastic sense of humor. Fran was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to those who knew her.

Fran is survived by her sons, Michael (Alcia) Scott, Jerry (Michelle) Scott; daughter, Diane (Tom) Novak; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Linda) Corum, Arlin Corum; sister, Barbara (Sam) Carrier; brother-in-law, Conald Hawn; daughter-in-law, Candis Scott; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Claude G. Scott; son, Ronald Scott; great granddaughter, Autumn (nee Scott) Lewis; sister, Shirley Hawn; sister-in-law, Susie Corum.

A funeral service for Fran will take place at 12:00 pm Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor J.J. Hairston officiating. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
