Mary R. Spurlock-Franczak, age 90, of Hobart passed away Saturday January 17, 2026, at Northwest Health Porter Hospital in Valparaiso. Mary was born December 6, 1935, in Barbourville, Kentucky to the late Robert and Florence (Dickerson) Earls. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She loved taking care of her family and anyone in need.

Mary is survived by her children, Joseph (Shiloh) Spurlock of Seattle, WA and Rebecca Spurlock of Hobart; six grandchildren, Krystal (Scott) Taylor, Zacharie (Anthony) Spurlock, Nathan Ford, Katelyn (Dylan) Muse, Alexis Spurlock, and Tasha Olgivie; and six great grandchildren, Karson Taylor, Brooklyn Taylor, Ethan Taylor, Liam Muse, Maverick Muse, and Cameron Muse.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Robert Earls and Kenneth Dickerson; and three sisters, Frances Smith, Rochelle Szarabajka, and Louise Santell.

Mary wished to be cremated. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 on Saturday February 7, 2026 from 12-2 p.m..
