Age 76, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 11, 1936 to the late Loren and Dora Berry in Crown Point, Indiana. On October 27, 1956, Mary Lou married the love of her life James "Dick" Sweat. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid bingo player.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband; James "Dick" Sweat of Hobart, 2 sons; James R. (Paula) Sweat II of South Haven, George Dale Sweat of Valparaiso, daughter; Peggy Lynn Parks of Valparaiso, 3 grandchildren; Nichole Ryan (Christian) Williams of Lake Station, Erin and Taylor Parks of Valparaiso, 2 great-grandchildren; James and Reese Williams of Valparaiso, many other loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son; Jeffery Alan Sweat, parents, and sister, Lucille Harriett Harris.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14,2012 at 10 am at New Hope Church of God, 712 N. 450 West, Valparaiso with Rev. Charles Drake officiating. Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to New Hope Church of God.
